DAYLIGHTING MYTHS
" Why Do The Minimum When You Can Do It Right! "
Both commercial and residential energy consumers continue to feel the pinch of high energy costs.
Demand drives prices up, but we know that the earth's supply of fossil fuels is finite. Concern over global warming (along with the "reward" of higher gas mileage and smaller heating bills) is beginning to impact people's fueling behavior.
In a similar way, Sunoptics is out to positively change people's lighting behavior.

Yet old habits are not easily broken. Like any "alternative fuel," daylighting is subject to many misconceptions that will only be overcome through education and experience.
Luckily for Sunoptics customers, daylighting is a very simple and thoroughly proven concept.

If you haven't already guessed, the following statements are all FALSE.

Myths
* Daylighting does not offer adequate lighting to replace electric lights.
* It is impossible to "daylight" windowless buildings.
* Daylighting doesn't work on cloudy days.
* Daylighting is too bright, hot and the light causes glare.
* Daylighting cannot be controlled like electric lighting.
* Daylighting only works in the spring and summer.
* Daylighting creates uncomfortable glare.
* Daylighting is cold in the winter.
* Daylighting requires more heating or air conditioning than electric lighting.
* Daylighting is expensive to install.
* Skylights get dirty easily and become ineffective sources of light.
* Skylights leak.
